Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Internal / Key Accounts Broker to manage a portfolio of existing clients through proactive underwriting and administrative support. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in underwriting, preferably within a brokerage environment, and be proficient in handling both personal and commercial lines insurance. This role is office-based/inbound and does not involve external client visits.
Minimum Qualifications & Requirements:
- Matric (Grade 12) certificate
- RE5 certification (compulsory)
- NQF Level 4 qualification in financial services (advantageous)
- Minimum 2 years of underwriting experience
- Experience in both personal and commercial lines underwriting
- Strong interpersonal, administrative, and communication skills
Key Responsibilities:
Client Portfolio Management:
- Manage an assigned portfolio of approximately 300 clients, ensuring high levels of service delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Maintain proactive communication with clients to understand their insurance needs and provide appropriate solutions.
Premium & Payment Management:
- Monitor and manage unpaid premiums, ensuring timely follow-ups and
- Liaise with clients and insurers to resolve outstanding payment
Policy Renewals & Retentions:
- Proactively manage policy renewal processes, ensuring policies are reviewed, updated, and renewed in a timely manner.
- Prepare and present renewal terms and alternatives, conducting risk assessments and portfolio reviews.
- Implement effective client retention strategies, reduce lapse rates and maintaining portfolio value.
Policy Endorsements & Amendments:
- Process policy endorsements efficiently and accurately, including changes in cover, asset details, or client information.
- Maintain precise records and ensure compliance with underwriting
Underwriting & Quoting:
- Conduct general underwriting duties, including risk assessments and
- Provide competitive quotes for new business opportunities within the existing
- Source and compare quotes from multiple insurance providers (re-broking) when necessary to ensure optimal cover and pricing.
Client Engagement:
- Conduct a minimum of 25 client meetings per day via Zoom or telephonic consultation to discuss policy details, renewals, endorsements, and cover
- Provide clear and professional advice on cover options, excess structures, policy terms, and risk exposures.
Additional Duties:
- Manage policy cancellations, including conducting exit interviews and offering retention solutions where possible.
- Coordinate tracking device installations for vehicle insurance
- Arrange valuation services when required to ensure adequate sums
- Process refunds promptly and accurately, in line with company and insurer
- Maintain compliance with all legislative and regulatory
