Boilermaker – JSB

Our reputable manufacturing client in Mandeni is currently seeking an experienced Boilermaker to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess refrigeration experience and be proficient in various welding techniques, including:

– MIG welding

– TIG welding

– Arc welding

– Gas welding

Main job function

• Will be falling under the Maintenance Department
• Reporting directly to the Shift Leader
• Required to work Shifts on a rotational basis or Straight Shifts
• Required to work during Plant Shutdowns to carry out Plant Maintenance
• Comply with safety regulations and maintain 5S Housekeeping
• Must be able to work without supervision
• Must be able to work Fast and Accurately
• Working closely with other departments to resolve Manufacturing Challenges
• Required to attend Departmental Meetings
• Participate in continuous improvement and problem-solving activities providing ideas and suggestions.
• Required to work overtime when necessary
• Must have strong mechanical aptitude
• Must have knowledge and experience working with hand and power tools
• Must be able to read and interpret technical and assembly drawings
• Must be willing and able to work under pressure and according to deadlines
• Knowledge pertaining to lock out and isolation procedures.
• Good communication skills with the ability to read and write in English.
• Practical and problem-solving skills
• Must be proficient in reading structural and plating drawings
• Vast experience with fabricating and erecting steel structures according to drawing plans
• Experience required in refurbishing steel structures according to standards
• Good knowledge of the various types of steels and their properties in use
• Must be able to fabricate, assemble, install, test, maintain and repair boilers, pressure vessels, tanks, towers, heat exchangers and other heavy-metal structures
• Must have experience with Gas and Plasma Cutting
• Must be proficient with Mig, Tig, Arc and Gas Welding

Qualifications 

• Matric
• Trade Tested Boiler making qualification
• 5-10 years’ experience
• Must be able to read technical and mechanical drawings Problem solving and fault-finding skills
• Must be able to fabricate, assemble, install, test, maintain and repair boilers, pressure vessels, tanks, towers, heat exchangers and other heavy-metal structures
• Must have experience with Gas and Plasma Cutting
• Must be proficient with Mig, Tig, Arc and Gas Welding
• Good Interpersonal and Communication skills (both written and verbal)
• Basic knowledge of refrigeration would be an added advantage

Salary

R25 000 – R35 000 per month
