My client is seeking an experienced and skilled Diesel Mechanic to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing routine maintenance, repairs, and diagnostics on diesel engines and related equipment. The ideal candidate will have worked on Volvo Trucks and a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and excellent problem-solving skills.
Main job function
– Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel and petrol engines, transmissions, and related equipment
– Conduct diagnostics to identify and resolve complex mechanical issues
– Replace and repair parts, such as fuel injectors, pistons, and valves
– Test and adjust engine performance, including fuel efficiency and emissions
– Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used
– Collaborate with colleagues to share knowledge and best practices
– Stay up-to-date with industry developments and manufacturer updates
Qualifications
Trade Tested Diesel Mechanic
5 years of experience as a diesel mechanic
Previous working experience on Volvo Trucks
Strong knowledge of diesel engine mechanics and repair principles
Proficiency with diagnostic tools and equipment
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Physical ability to lift, bend, and work in a fast-paced environment
Remuneration: R30 000
