Role Overview:
We are looking for a person who has worked in the Pension Fund accounts environment and has experience with Fund Accounting requirements for Pension Administration systems. The ideal candidate will have experience with mapping of accounts (client chart of accounts to system), setting up systems and using accounting functionality in pension administration systems.
The role involves implementation of accounting set-up for new Clients and maintenance of Fund Accounting set-up in the system for existing Clients.
The role will provide for great learning and growth opportunities and will include setting up training documentation and presenting training to our client base. The candidate will work in a software development environment and will work closely with the developers as new functionality and requirements are implemented in the systems.
Responsibilities:
- Set up of system for new Clients
- Client support
- Client training
- Maintenance of existing Client account set-ups on the system
- Management of all accounting reports
- Data migrations
- Documentation creation and management
Qualifications and Experience
We are looking for a person who has worked in the Pension Fund accounts environment and has experience with Fund Accounting requirements for Pension Administration systems.
- Fund Accounting experience (5 years or more) including the following: – Maintaining private retirement fund accounting records from day-to-day transactions up to annual balance sheet on a portfolio of Pension Funds.
- Deduction and payment of PAYE/SITE to SARS on all Pensioners, Retirements, Deaths and withdrawals paid from the Fund Investing and Disinvesting funds from Investment managers
- Payment (EFT/Cheque) of all claims and fund expenses
- Release of Fund Payments
- Reconciling payrolls and ensuring Reinsurance Premiums are paid correctly.
- Calculations and payment of Broker Commissions and Administration Fees
- Preparation of Cashflow statements.
- Preparation for and facilitating annual Fund audits
- Assisting with development and testing of systems, processes and procedures
- Training Fund Accountants
- Asset/Liability Matching
- Strong reconciliation skills
- Have strong Excel skills
- Be proficient in PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and digital workspaces
- Strong with digital records
Systems Experience
- Drafting of business specifications documents outlining administration system requirements in order to comply with accounting standards.
- Testing on accounting processes on Administration and Accounting systems
- Development of procedures and solutions for administration system accounting processes
- Design of system reports for accounting purposes.
- Experience with host-to-host connections for Standard and Absa Bank online banking
- Checking of audit migration files
- Setting up of Funds on the administration system
- Mapping of Chart of Accounts
- Development of training material
- Relevant exposure to investment reporting systems
Education
- Relevant tertiary qualification with a strong focus on commerce (BCom Accounting, Finance, Investments) or, Certified Bookkeeper or equivalent qualification
