Purposes of the position

IT Infrastructure Manager.

The IT Infrastructure Manager role sits within the Systems Administration and Infrastructure Team. The IT Infrastructure Manager is responsible for resolving escalated service issues, coaching system administrators and engineers to resolutions, engineering and implementing complex projects, and for maintaining and overseeing the technology of our client. This role is a key position within the IT Solutions group and will be called upon to resolve the highest-level technical issues. Ensuring the highest levels of systems, infrastructure availability and SLAs.

This individual will be an integral part of the Information Technology organization reporting to the Head of IT Solutions to help improve and communicate the delivery of infrastructure solutions to the business.

Oversees a large, complex organization with multiple functional disciplines/occupations or manages a program, regardless of size, that has critical impact upon the business. Significant responsibility for formulating and administering policies and programs manages significant human, financial and physical resources, and functions with high autonomy.

Frequently influences business decisions made by senior leadership. Oversees the accountability and stewardship of our clients resources and the development of systems and procedures to protect organizational assets. Negotiates and influences others to understand and accept new concepts, practices, and approaches.

 

Key Requirements/ Responsibilities

  • Participating, providing, and assisting in the design, UAT and implementation of solutions.
  • Hardware and software scoping and planning for business requirements.
  • Capacity planning of resources for physical and virtual environments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams for project & service delivery, such as global service desk, technical teams and third-party solution providers.
  • Engage in new and existing business project planning sessions to provide input and align to industry best standards.
  • Ensure systems remain stable and requirements are continuously met.
  • Ensure business SLAs, deliverables and projects are met timeously.
  • Co-ordinate software & systems solutions testing and rollouts.
  • Remain proactive and responsive to prospective clients and stakeholders.
  • Retain and develop strong relationships with business stakeholders, delivering strategic insight and advice and industry intelligence, to help them achieve their objectives.
  • Provide information and evidence for technical audits and advise on solutions for improvement.
  • Determine efficient communication procedures for service delivery teams to relay back to clients for impact of systems.
  • Provide daily direction and communication to team on performance through regular team connections.
  • Grow, mentor, and upskill the team with technical and management skills.
  • Coach direct reports on workforce issues
  • Enables and empowers the team to implement/execute a strategic vision or change for the better. Leads with passion and energy.
  • Effectively maintain awareness of the business strategy and company profitability, including all budgetary controls focused on the impact that the specialist support team has on delivery of service ensuring the business achieves the revenue targets.
  • Ensure departmental expenditure is within budget.
  • Ensure software, infrastructure and all licensing expenditure is accounted for along in co-ordinance with the correct processes and relevant approvals.
  • Drive cost management and savings initiatives to reduce overall operating expenses and improve profitability.
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities, and drive solutions to enhance processes around authentication, security and protection of data.
  • Ensuring the best practices and policies are set in place and continuously reviewed for PCI compliance and ensure company’s attestation.
  • Continuously provide enhanced and improved solutions/ strategies to business without disruption to systems & services.
  • Maintain internal standards documentation with revisions and reviews.
  • Proactively monitor, maintain and mitigate risks to sensitive data, cyber-attacks, vulnerabilities and security breaches.
  • Continuously keep up with day-to-day security risks and forums.
  • Strong approach to safety, with good appreciation of multiple Geo-location and compliance requirements in design
  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement corrective action.
  • Ensure proper change controls and processes are in place and upheld by the team for changes to production and critical systems.
  • Ensure Systems Engineering processes are properly documented, periodically reviewed and approved by the relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensuring the software and Anti-Virus tools used are up to best practice and meet industry standards, as well as updated regularly to harden security and the risk against attacks.

Required Skills/Experience

 

  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Windows Server and Azure plat forms
  • Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools.
  • Strong knowledge of network infrastructure, i.e., Routing, Switching and Security
  • Manage and maintain Office 365 Security, Compliance and Governance, ensuring Office 365 is secure.
  • Own and grow Systems Engineering & Realization capabilities for the client
  • Leadership skills: Ability to lead and motivate a team.
  • Scripting and automation
  • Microsoft O365 Environment Installation, Monitoring, Support & Maintenance
  • Installation, configuration & management of Active Directory Domain and Certificate Services servers.
  • Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability
  • Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with developers to implement those fixes.
  • Creation & maintenance of Remote Desktop Servers (RDS) including Gateway services.
  • Participated in the design of information and operational support systems.
  • Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution.
  • Evaluates the existing systems and provides technical direction to IT support staff.
  • Virtualization technologies (VMWare preferred)
  • Extensive experience with MS Windows and MS Office product implementations and support including Active Directory, LDAP, Exchange and Remote Desktop Services
  • Messaging fundamentals (SMTP, DMARC, DKIM, SPF)
  • Experience with on-premises AD, Azure AD, AD Connect, ADFS and similar technologies.
  • Exposure to PCI-DSS and compliance Standards
  • Providing exceptional service to internal and external customers.
  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to collect and analyze information, problem-solve, and make decisions.

 

Education/Qualifications

  • IT Diploma or Degree
  • A+ / N+
  • MCSE / MCSA
  • 10+ Years’ experience in Information Technology (at least 3 years in management)
  • Experience with full product development life cycle
  • Fortinet NSE
