Main job function
To use business data, visualisation and statistical methods to conduct analysis and provide insight and foresight into business performance; suggest analytical approaches and methodologies of improving operational performance; research, design and implement state of the art machine learning solutions to enhance the business.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS
• Support relevant business stakeholders through the application of advanced analytics, statistical modelling and machine learning
• Statistical and machine learning model maintenance and enhancement
• Promote the adoption of advanced data science and analytics across the organisation
• Support and leverage data management
• Mentor, develop and advise of Data Scientists
REQUIRED EDUCATION
ESSENTIAL EDUCATION
• Master’s degree in mathematics, statistics, data science or related quantitative field
DESIRED EDUCATION
• PhD in mathematics, statistics, data science or related quantitative field
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCE
• 6-8 years’ relevant working experience in data science building and implementing predictive models
DESIRED EXPERIENCE
• Experience in the healthcare industry
REQUIRED JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
• Data science, mathematics, statistics, curiosity and creative problem solving
• Derive value from analytical output by explaining insights in layman’s terms
• Advanced analytics and understanding of machine learning algorithms e.g. Neural networks, boosting methods, clustering and random forest models
• Abreast with the latest developments in AI/ML, Data & Digital innovation and the resulting implications for the organization and healthcare industry
• Programming skills in scripting languages such as SAS, R, Python and SQL
• Proficient in Data Storytelling (analysing, explaining findings, and articulating business implications)
• Presentation skills (Tableau, SAS Visual Analytics, Power BI) to audiences from all levels of the company
• Subject Matter Expertise on all aspects of AI and ML. Can identify appropriate techniques/solutions for business & data problems
• Proficient in prescribed company scripting languages, and can teach, review and optimize code written in these languages
• Knowledge of the Healthcare industry and related trends
• Critical and analytical thinking skills and inquisitiveness to discover patterns with data
• Managing data-driven projects that drive business value
• Exceptionally good computer skills and all-around technologically adept
• Knowledge and ability to build and deploy machine learning solutions using open-source and cloud technologies
• Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
