Senior Financial Accountant (Equity role) – SSSFA

Key Responsibilities & Functions:

1. Day to day tasks:
• Review of journal entry postings
• Review of interfacing files, across all regions and resolution of issues identified.
• Monitor and supervise the process of capturing of expenses to ensure valid, accurate and complete processing
• Daily reporting on specific account balances
• Daily/weekly reporting of intercompany balances
• Guiding rest of the finance team (including AP/AR/Accountants) by providing support to ensure accurate reporting

2. Month end task:
• Review of key balance sheet items and reconciliations
• Review of balance sheet accounts
• Preparation of key balance sheet reconciliations
• Review of revenue accruals, revenue reports and analysis of revenue system reports
• Month end FRP review for each region for accuracy and reporting
• Assistance with tax monthly entries
• Review of business units PNL
• Approval of journal entries
• Liaising with various business units (operations /legal / HR/ GM’s) to provide solutions

3. Other responsibilities:
• Assistance with preparation of year-end financial statements
• Responding to audit and other queries
• Systems improvements
• Drafting and execution of SOPs
• Ensuring accurate and timely preparation of financial and management reports to senior management
• Work closely with finance teams of entities across the group, understanding the reporting processes.
• Take ownership and initiative to review, enhance, streamline, and monitor finance workflows, internal controls, and processes to improve efficiency
• Prepare monthly and annual results by IFRS reporting standards
• Liaison with external professionals on audit, tax, secretarial and other issues to ensure statutory and regulatory compliance
• Ensure compliance with Group Policies
• Support function to the Head of Finance and CFO: Africa
• Ad-hoc other duties as required

Required Qualification
• CA (SA)
• At least 2 years post article experience
• Experience in Logistics is preferred
