Main job function
• Development of a financial and operational strategy with metrics tied to the strategy.
• The ongoing development and monitoring of control systems designed to preserve company assets and report accurate financial results.
• Ensure the integrity of the General ledger for reporting – Control, maintenance & management.
• Ensure the integrity of the Group monthly management accounts, Group balance sheets, cash flows, budgets, and forecasts.
• Ensure all monthly International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) reporting requirements are met in terms of quality (accuracy, completeness) and timeliness.
• Implement a robust Group monthly reporting process and discipline.
• Play a leading role in partnering with executive management to manage major aspects of financial reporting
• Provide monthly financial reviews and budget (forecast) meetings.
• Manage and maintain appropriate accounting policies, processes, and internal control systems
• Prepare and/or review Audit committee and Board financial pack submissions for the Board and Sub-Committee meetings, and ensure timely submission thereof (including budgets, interim and year-end packs).
• Ensure the integrity of the IFRS financial figures reported
• Providing financial data and information requested by management on a timely basis.
• Be the key contact for interim and year-end external audit and annual report preparation.
• Ensure company financial statements are prepared in compliance with IFRS for interim and annual reports.
• Responsible for accurate reporting on all Imports and Foreign exchange transactions.
• Manage the timely and accurate accounting for acquisitions and disposals
• Key advisor and signatory of loan and facility legal agreements and secretarial related legal agreements.
• Maintenance of Group Companies Limits of Authority.
• Provide input in the Integrated Reporting compilation process.
• Ensure a succession plan in place for the senior management positions reporting into the Finance Executive
• Ensuring proper training of all personnel working on financial, accounting, audit or fiscal matters
• Responsible for the management of the Finance team and their required outputs.
• Provide guidance and development opportunities to direct reports.
Qualifications
• CA (SA) qualification
Criteria
• 10 – 15 Years proven hand on financial management experience in a manufacturing environment, supplying strategical financial guidance, monitoring budgets, financial reporting to relevant stakeholders.
• Proven relevant experience as a Head of Finance in the Apparel or Textile Manufacturing environment will be advantageous
