We are looking for a hands-on individual that will ensure the efficient daily functioning of all Company buildings/facilities, compliance with legislative requirements and constant improvement of facilities (maintenance/repairs/refurbishment) while ensuring the safety, hygiene and security of the staff/clients who access those areas.
Main job function
- Conduct routine preventative maintenance and checks on all buildings/facilities in portfolio to ensure all are well maintained and running at optimal capacity
- Ensure buildings/facilities are compliant with Health and Safety and relevant government/facilities management legislation
- Source service providers to provide services where necessary, always adhering to procurement standards
- Ensure the efficient management of contractors/service providers to ensure work is done and timelines met.
- Responsible for checking/maintenance of security and fire alarms in all buildings/facilities
- Manage security of each building/facility, liaising with security service providers and handling incidents as and when they arise while also improving security of the units through preventative checks
- Liaise with/management of pest control/hygiene/cleaning contractors as and when required
- Suggesting improvements and cost saving initiatives for buildings/facilities
- Handling building/facilities emergencies as and when they occur
- Identify and repair basic electrical/plumbing/maintenance issues as and when they occur Ensure management/control of tools/equipment at all times
- Management and control of facilities expenditure to ensure costs are within budgetary requirements
- Be available and willing to work after hours/weekends when required and be willing to travel (in/outside Gauteng)
Qualifications
Matric
Relevant technical/business degree/national diploma
Trade certification (Electrical)
Certificate in Facilities Management advantageous
Driver license essential
Experience/Criteria
5+ Years relevant experience in a similar environment level
