Main job function
- Push monthly/ daily/ hourly production targets at our crushing and screening plant and ensure that production is recorded and reported according to company requirements.
- Coordinating resources, for instance ensuring that the front-end-loader is in time so that the jaw crusher bin never runs empty.
- Coordinate downtime (scheduled / planned maintenance) with the engineering foreman in order to ensure maximum plant availability. Make sure they do not exceed production time without good reason.
- Inspect plant along with shift supervisor and engineering foreman prior to starting the plant to prevent production interruptions during the shift.
- Ensure that shift supervisors use the correct feed for the plant (eg. No wet material when dry material is available, no contaminated feed, recycling of product as agreed with mine manager).
- Oversee production process to prevent interruptions.
- Oversee quality (eg size specification). Fault finding with supervisors to detect reasons for faulty material, eg a screen is torn when oversize is detected.
- Train and retrain supervisors and operators when necessary.
- Improve processes where possible.
Qualifications
- Grade 12
- Relevant mining Health and Safety courses

- 10-15 experience in production management / supervisor in a mining environment
